What is CBT

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented  form of therapy that focuses on how maladaptive thoughts affect feelings , behaviours and physical sensations.

CBT is based on scientific research and has been applied to a wide range of mental health conditions: Depression, Anxiety Disorders (such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic Attacks, Phobias, Generalized Anxiety) , Eating Disorders, Relationship difficulties…among others.

The therapist will help the client to learn  and practice effective strategies to address the identified goals and decrease symptoms of the disorder

CBT should begin with a detailed assessment or formulation of the problem, unique and tailor-made to the client

CBT is often more effective when combined with medication
